2012 Holiday Gift Guide: Vegan Food Gifts Book

Posted on Nov 20, 2012 by in Product Reviews, Vegan Gift Guide | 0 comments

Seems ironic that I would put a book about gifts in my gift guide, right? Well, that’s what I thought initially, too, but this truly is the gift that keeps on giving – forget a membership to the jelly of the month club!

If you are someone who likes to give food as gifts, then this book is must-have in your kitchen arsenal. Much more than a cookbook in the traditional sense, this book has everything you need to know in order to give the best food gifts your friends and family have ever seen.

Food has long been a great gift to give on any occasion and during the holidays it’s a the perfect way to give gifts to more people (i.e. coworkers, neighbors) without spending a fortune. From hostess gifts to gifts for your kid’s teachers, this book has something for everyone.

Now, I’m not what you would call ‘crafty’ and because of that, I’ve never really been into making gifts, but this book makes everything super easy and goes through the process step-by-step – Joni Marie Newman has done all of the crafty stuff for you! Seriously, this book has it all, including instructions for making gift boxes and even tags that you can cut right out of the book!

And of course, there are the recipes: there are ready-to-eat bar and cookie recipes (Shortbread Fingers), gifts in jars that just need water (Cheesy Potato Soup Mix), and even drink mixes (Sweet Lemon Iced Tea Mix)! Not only are there recipes for numerous goodies that are both delicious and gorgeous-looking, but the author also includes tips for canning and for making infused olive oils.
