Chunks of Energy Product Review

A little while back the awesome people at Chunks of Energy (Dancing Star) sent me some of their vegan Cacao with Goji Berry chunks in exchange for an honest review. I’m always on the lookout for new raw goodies, so I was happy to try these out.

These little nuggets are very tasty and are the perfect mid-afternoon snack. They definitely satisfied my grumbling tummy after work and helped me get to dinner without snacking too much. These particular chunks had about 120 calories per oz (approx. 3 chunks), which is a good amount for snacking.

Another added bonus is that these do not have any added salt, are soy-free, and are sweetened with dates. They use organic ingredients where possible, so you know you are getting a high quality product. One downside to Chunks of Energy is that they don’t have a particularly large selection of vegan flavors in comparison to their total product line. There are about 5 vegan options, though they do have many gluten-free options.

One of the things I love about these is that they minimize waste and keep costs down by not using formal packaging. They use large plastic bags and sell only in 5lbs and 10lbs bags, which helps reduce their impact on the environment.

Overall, it’s a good product that I will probably buy more of in the summer. These would be perfect for taking camping or on a hiking trip so I would definitely be able to go through a 5lbs bag. If you’re interested in trying some for yourself, check out their website!
