Juicing Guest Post: The Smooth Celery Cooler
I’ll be off having a baby sometime soon, so I thought it would be a good time to bring in a guest blogger. Today I have a great juicing post for you from Chris Wimmer. Chris blogs at HealthSmartLiving.com and has tons of amazing juice recipes that can get you started with juicing or give you ideas for new juices. I’m super excited to have him with us today to share this recipe with you. Enjoy!
I call this juice recipe the ‘GATEWAY’ juice. This juice is perfect for people interested (or skeptical) about juicing. One of the biggest hurdles to juicing is getting used to the unique taste of a vitamin packaged mega bomb! I now love the taste of my juices, but it will still never win a taste competition with a Starbucks drink. Oh, the sinful goodness those baristas can put in a cup.
The Smooth Celery Cooler has a bit more fruit juice than most recipes, so it’s smooth, sweet, and delicious. But don’t worry… it’s also packed with nutrition. The combination of apples, celery, and ginger will ease the digestion if you are a juicing noobie, while the spinach will go virtually unnoticed to deliver a punch of anti-inflammatory enzymes. Once you try this, a great variation is to use kale in place of spinach.
- Apples – 3 medium (Granny Smith recommended)
- Celery – 4 large stalks
- Ginger Root – 1 thumb sized chunk
- Lemon – 1/2 fruit (peeled)
- Orange – 1 fruit (peeled)
- Spinach – 1 cup packed
Peel the lemon and orange, but not the apples or ginger. Feed all ingredients into the juicer. Do not worry about the seeds of any of these fruits.
Stir and drink! Enjoy!
