Peanut Butter Protein Bites

Vegan Protein Balls

As I mentioned before, one thing I’m really trying to improve in my diet is my protein intake, not just the amount, but the way in which I get it. Though these peanut butter protein bites have some fat in them due to the nuts and seeds, they are a great source of protein and they are the perfect way to refuel and replenish my body after a workout.

I really like mixing in the protein powder for an added burst of protein without the added fat and it makes a good binder for the bites. Also, supplementing the peanut butter with the powdered peanut butter also helps keep the fat content low.

Not only are these good as fuel for workouts, but they are also great for people on the go who don’t have a lot of time to sit down and eat a proper lunch or breakfast. Though these aren’t a meal on their own, they can be a tasty and nutritional snack that will fill you up enough to hold you over until you are able to have your next meal.

Peanut Butter Protein Bites

The chia and sunflower seeds give these a delightful crunch and the maple syrup gives them a bit of sweetness. You could also use agave nectar in place of the maple syrup or a date syrup if you’re so inclined. If you don’t have any powdered peanut butter just replace it with additional protein powder.

This recipe makes 6 balls and each ball has 115 calories and 7g of protein.

Peanut Butter Protein Bites


  • 2 tbsp Powdered Peanut Butter
  • 2 tbsp Chocolate Protein Powder
  • 2 tbsp Chia Seeds
  • 2 tbsp Sunflower Seeds
  • 1/4 cup Natural Peanut Butter
  • 2 tbsp Maple Syrup


  1. In a stand mixer (or by hand) mix all ingredients together until they form a dough. Roll the mixture into 6 balls and place in the refrigerator for at least 1 hours. Store in the fridge.
