St. Patrick’s Day Shenanigans
As soon as March rolls around I can’t help but start thinking about St. Patrick’s Day. This year will be the second year in a row that the husband and I have run in the Get Lucky! 7k race to celebrate the holiday and the only thing that makes finishing a race better is the yummy treats you can justify eating afterwards!
The recipes below are some of the coolest/tastiest ideas I’ve found on the interwebs and they are sure to make your holiday a festive one, no matter how you celebrate it!
Vegan Shepherd’s Pie with Gravy – Shepherd’s pie for me is only second to corned ‘beef’ and cabbage when it comes to best St. Patrick’s Day dinners ever. This recipe looks simple and fantastic and I can’t wait to make it for this year’s festivities!
Coconut Shamrock Shake – This is an oldie but a goodie. Shamrock shakes from McD’s used to be one of the only things I’d get from there and to this day I miss them during this time of year. This one is better than the original and you can whip it up right in your own kitchen!
Sweet Matcha Almond Oatmeal – This is one of the most inventive oatmeal recipes I’ve seen and it’s green color makes it the perfect St. Patrick’s Day breakfast.
Chocolate Stout Cupcakes with Jameson Frosting – I love a good chocolate stout beer and a little whiskey on top never hurt anyone. Anyone want to make a batch and ship them to my house? 🙂
Vegan Irish Whiskey Cake – Whiskey? Cake? Whiskey Cake? I don’t think I’ve ever come across a more amazing combination! Whiskey and Cake should be the new Batman and Robin – kicking ass and taking names!
Other Fun Stuff:
Have you seen the video with the goats screaming like humans? If not, go watch it, then come back and watch this hilarious mash-up of Taylor Swift and the Goats. I was literally crying over this – so funny!
What will you be cooking up for St. Patrick’s Day?
