Sunday Funday 1/27

Posted on Jan 27, 2013 by in Sunday Funday | 2 comments

Howdy y’all! How has your weekend been so far? I had a great time with family and friends this weekend and even though I was dog tired last night, I seemed to have found some renewed energy! I was up quite early this morning cooking, doing yoga, and cleaning – I feel like I could call it a day right now and still have accomplished quite a lot (though I won’t, cause it’s not really my style).

Anyway, today I have some recipes that I wanted to make sure you all saw so that you can test them out in your kitchen this week and I also have some new music and other goodies to share as well. Enjoy!

Crowdsource Recipe Testing

Thai Carrot Soup – With all of the cold, cold days we’ve had here, nothing sounds better to me than a piping hot bowl of spicy soup!

Raw Vegan Fudge – The ganache on these looks epic. Can’t wait to try!

Dark Chocolate Sweet Potato Chips – The husband brought home chocolate dipped potato chips once and I was hooked! I love this homemade and healthy version – great for a snack or dessert!

Broccoli Cheese Muffins – These things are just about the cutest thing I’ve ever seen! Plus, it’s a clever way to entice kids to eat their broccoli.

Winter Fruit Salad w/Lemon Poppyseed Dressing – I was never a huge fan of fruit salad, but then again, my fruit salad never looked quite like this! Be sure to sub out the honey with agave nectar for a truly vegan delight!

Things You Should Read

If you’re a baker then you’ll appreciate this article about using a thermometer to make better bread and rolls – I learn something new everyday!

This is an awesome post from Manifest Vegan that shows you how to make your own compassionate hair dye!

This isn’t an article, but it’s the IndieGoGo campaign for Phoney Baloney, a company that is looking to produce their line of coconut bacon for mass market. Please consider making a contribution (which also gets you some of the delicious product) – it’s a win for vegans everywhere!

Question of the Week

So, I want to start growing greens indoors – does anyone have any tips or suggestions for getting started?

Have a wonderful week! If you have anything you’d like to share either leave it in the comments or shoot me an email!
