Sunday Funday October 13th

I can usually tell how close Halloween is by the number of late night calls and texts I get from work – and judging by the number I had this weekend, Halloween must be right around the corner!

I really don’t know where this year went, but since Halloween is just about here, I may as well make the most of it. I love these ideas for Halloween eats – people’s creativity never ceases to amaze me. Enjoy these recipes and hopefully they’ll give you some inspiration for the upcoming holiday as well!

Though you have to make a few vegan substitutions in this recipe, it looks like it would be well worth it! These Pumpkin Pie Spiced Popcorn Balls look delicious and they remind me of trick-or-treating when I was a kid. At the time we would always avoid the house that gave out popcorn balls, but my tastes have changed quite a bit and I’d be happy to have one of these bad boys on Halloween!

If you are looking for an easy, no fuss recipe for Halloween, then be sure to check out these No-Bake Pumpkin Cheesecake Bars. They are simple to put together and they make use of my favorite fall/Halloween ingredient – pumpkin!

Both adorable and delicious-looking, this Monster Mash Shepherd’s Pie would be fun to serve to the little ones (or the adults) at your Halloween party! Hey, this is probably the best way to get kids to eat lentils and mushrooms 🙂

This is another themed eat that I love because it is both healthy and festive. These Halloween Carrot Rice Balls would be perfect for kids, but they also make a fun addition to any Halloween party plate. Not the mention these things look incredibly easy to put together and they’ll impress your friends!

I have never been, nor do I believe I’ll ever be, a candy corn person, but these Healthy Candy Corn are something I can get behind. They are made of nut butter and a sugar-less sugar (yes,  it’s a thing), which makes them both tasty and better for you than any commercial version of candy corn.

I’ll be posting more regularly this week – I’ve finally recovered from Vegan MoFo.

  • Halloween is never a big deal here but I’m hoping to do something for it anyway.
Love the look of those pumpkin cheesecake bars and Isa’s Monster Mash pie is so fun isn’t it?!

    • Yes – it makes me all giddy 🙂

  • I can’t wait to see what Halloween will be like here in Buenos Aires! I think the No-Bake Pumpkin Cheesecake Bars sounds pretty easy to make and my ideal comfort dessert!

    • How fun to see holidays in different cultures! I hope you’ll write about it!
